This is our EV conversion project page.

 

We are starting an electric conversion on a 1991 Mazda pickup with a 5 speed manual transmission purchased for $600 with a blown engine.

Perfect for an EV conversion!

We will be updating this page as we make progress on the conversion.

Removing the gasoline engine to make room for the electric motor and other EV components!



 

Here's a view of the engine bay with the engine and tranny removed. Now there's plenty of room for the electric motor and components.

Here is the transmission removed and after I spent a few hours cleaning it with a tooth brush and some purple power. Now it's ready for the adapter plate and DC electric motor.
